About the play
L. Frank Baum’s beloved story of a young girl’s adventure in a magical land has been entertaining audiences for over a century. This stage adaptation, featuring the characters and celebrated songs from the film, brings the wondrous Land of Oz to life in a jubilant theatrical experience.
Of course, along the way, Dorothy encounters witches (both good and bad), Munchkins, talking trees and winged monkeys. But most importantly, she befriends three unique characters: a Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin Man with no heart, and a Lion with no “nerve.” Their journey to happiness – and self-awareness – is a glowing testament to friendship, understanding and hope in a world filled with both beauty and ugliness.

Last Chance, the musical duo of Jack Scott and Ingrid Rosenback, formed in 2012. Ingrid is a classically trained violinist and Jack is a songwriter with roots in traditional folk music. They both sing, Jack plays guitar and 5-string banjo, and Ingrid plays fiddle and harmonica. Their intelligent, handcrafted songs appeal to audiences of diverse ages and musical tastes. All their songs are original and all their shows are fun. Last Chance appears throughout Greater Philadelphia at festivals, coffee houses, theaters (including Suzanne Roberts and Hedgerow), blues clubs and other venues. They are five time veterans of the Philadelphia Folk Festival and 2018 winners of the Delmarva Folk Hero Contest. They've recorded six albums of original music. Making their Hedgerow debut, special guests Bethlehem and Sad Patrick perform songs of love and other struggles. Combining her soaring vocals and driving percussion with his sparse guitar, they deliver powerful songs about being in and out of love, keeping your head up in the city, struggling to make your way, and seeking peace on the margins. Sad Patrick’s hybrid of folk, blues and jazz playing supports Bethlehem’s “vocussion” – her powerful singing, remarkable improvisations and nuanced melodies riding atop her tarima stomps and body percussion. Their live shows are enthralling, with their on-the-spot interplay and how fully Bethlehem inhabits their songs and captivates a crowd. Attendees will enjoy a light reception after the concert in the lobby. General admission tickets $20. Tickets are available online, at 610-565-4211, or at the door the day of the performance. Limited availability. | Buy tickets |
