YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN
Young Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced “Fronkensteen”), grandson of legendary Victor Frankenstein, inherits the family’s Transylvanian estate. With the help of Igor, the predictably loony hunchback-in-residence, and Inga, the not-too-bad-to-look-at laboratory assistant, Frederick attempts to recreate his ancestor’s reanimation experiments. Since this is Mel Brooks’ musicalized reinvention of his movie of the same name, naturally Frederick succeeds. Then the monster escapes and things really get batty, with a lot of singing and dancing to advance the insanity to a conclusion only a mad scientist, or Mr. Brooks, could conceive.
