Waimea Community Chorus - Back to Tin Pan Alley: 1899-1929

June 4 & 5, 2016

The music of Tin Pan Alley composers George M Cohan, the Von Tilzers, Irving Berlin, Rodgers & Hart, Hammerstein & Kern, George & Ira Gerswhin and Cole Porter will be featured in this concert. Under the direction of Barbara Kopra the 60-voice chorus will sing well known favorites including, “In My Merry Oldsmobile”, “Alexander’s Ragtime Band”, “Tea for Two”, “Fascinating Rhythm”, ”My Heart Stood Still”, ”Someone to Watch Over Me”, and “Let’s Do It, Let’s Fall in Love”! As you hum along, you will experience a bit of musical nostalgia as we celebrate American music in the early 1900’s.
