LANDFILL HARMONIC
SATURDAY, March 19, 5:30 PM
Chilmark School

Outside Paraguay’s capital are the slums of Cateura—which are on top of the city’s dump, one of South America’s largest landfills. From these circumstances, the most unlikely orchestra in the world is formed, “The Recycled Orchestra of Cateura.” Violins and cellos are made from oil drums, flutes from water pipes and spoons, guitars from packing crates.
