Melody Lovesong has unknowingly inherited a fortune from her late father. Her evil aunt, Lucretia Moneygrabb, knows of the fortune and has come to stay with Melody, not only to gain control of it but to marry off her stupid daughter, Ganglia. Lucretia blackmails Melody's neighbor, Baron Wilhelm von Snipe, into helping her, but the Baron has plans for Melody of his own. Everything seems hopeless… but can the sheriff set things right?
