Chamber Music Amici

“Klezmer & Tchaikovsky” – Classical and Vernacular Music from Europe of the 1890s!

Please join us for Chamber Music Amici’s April concert! This unique program will pair klezmer music and Tchaikovsky in two performances. Our residency artists from Sweden, Semmy Stahlhammer (violin) and Isabel Blommé (cello), will be joined by Sergei Teleshev (accordion) for a selection of klezmer music, the vibrant and evocative folk music of Eastern European Jewish communities. For Tchaikovsky’s passionate and lyrical “Souvenir de Florence,” they will be joined by Amici musicians Jessica Lambert and Steven Pologe with local guest musicians Leslie Straka and Lillie Manis. Semmy was concertmaster of the Royal Swedish Opera until 2015. Isabel performs with a number of groups including the Stahlhammer Klezmer Classic Band. Sergei is part of Trio Voronezh.
