A View From the Bridge, set in New York City, is the story of the Carbones, an Italian-American family. Eddie Carbone, a longshoreman living in Brooklyn, has a decent job and a loving wife, Beatrice. The Carbones have raised their 17-year-old niece, Catherine, since childhood. She is adored by Eddie. Now, just as Catherine is becoming a woman, the Carbone family opens their doors to two of Beatrice's cousins from Sicily: Marco and Rodolpho. When Rodolpho and Catherine fall in love, chaos ensues, with tragic results.
