Children of Eden, with a book by John Caird and music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (composer of the Broadway musical - WICKED), is a frank, heartfelt and often humorous examination of the age-old conflict between parents and children. The musical, which is based on the first nine chapters of Genesis, retells our human story from the moment of Creation until just after the Flood, and brings vibrant new life to our shared ancient history. Primarily it is a tale about family and love, as Adam, Eve, Noah and the "Father" who created them deal with the headstrong, cataclysmic actions of their respective children. It is a joyous and enchanting musical for the whole family, with great dialogue, a stirring storyline, spirited choreography and a beautifully moving score. Ultimately, the show delivers a bittersweet but inspiring message: that "the hardest part of love... is letting go."
