Considered one of Stephen Sondheim’s masterpieces, Into the Woods is an epic fairytale about wishes, family, and the choices we make. Inspired by the stories of the Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault, this musical tells of a childless baker and his wife. Cursed by the Witch, the couple set off on a quest to break the curse and start a family. Intertwined with their story are the plots of several other famous tales – including Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, and Cinderella – all of which explore the consequences of the characters’ choices and journeys.
