6:00 - Meet-the-Author Reception, Lobby
7:00 - Author talk, Bronwynn Theatre

Brit Bennett, whose debut novel, The Mothers, earned her a spot as one of the National Book Foundation’s 5 Under 35 honorees before it was even published, will be the next writer showcased during Hear & Now, a series co-sponsored by Worthington Libraries and the McConnell Arts Center. Bennett will answer questions and discuss her New York Times bestseller, which focuses on the tangled destinies of three young people growing up in a tightknit African American community in Southern California. Jacqueline Woodson, the National Book Award-winning author of Brown Girl Dreaming and Another Brooklyn called Bennett “the real thing” and The Mothers “…a stellar novel – moving, thoughtful.” Bennett’s essays have been featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, The Paris Review and Jezebel.
