UCC Theatre Arts presents an exploration of King Lear with two actors sharing the title role. The audience will experience this show “in the round,” as all the seating will be on stage in an intimate setting within Centerstage Theater. General seating for this show will be limited to the first 60 patrons per show; advance ticketing is recommended.
King Lear wants to retire and decides to divide his kingdom among his three daughters. Devastated when his beloved youngest does not proclaim her dutiful love to her father, Lear expels his favorite daughter and spirals into despair. As his older daughters take power, enemies emerge and the kingdom descends into corruption. As tragedy abounds and identities warp, goodness and honor fight to regain control.
This show is recommended for at least 13 years and up for some staged violence.
