Extreme Doo Wop Acappella Concert

Saturday, June 23, 2018 7PM

Classic Urban Harmony LLC brings street corner doo wop acappella to the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center on Saturday evening, June 23, 2018. Rhythm & Blues and Doo Wop harmony was born on the street corners of urban America in the late 1940’s and 1950’s. Teenage vocal groups seldom had access to musical instruments and there were no music tracks. What they had were nature’s most perfect musical instruments – human voices. Records companies put bands behind the voices to make the music commercial, but Doo Wop music at its purest is still acappella.

• De’Sean Dooley, star of “Soul Harmony” and grandson of Orioles’ lead, Sonny Til - backed acappella by Quiet Storm
• Quiet Storm, one of the area’s top vocal groups
• Reunion, popular Jersey Shore acappella group, back after a long absence with new lead, Frank Lafaro
• A Perfect Blend, outstanding soulful acappella harmony group
• Copians, fine Philly favorites
• Joel Katz, “The Voice of Jersey Doo Wop” backed by his group, the Dynamics.
• Emceed by Classic Urban Harmony’s Pam & Charlie Horner.
Line up subject to change.
