Indro Roy-Chowdhury opens the concert with a solo piece for sitar and is then joined on violin by brilliant improvisor and 2018 NCMF Composer-in-Residence Fung Chern Hwei for a duo that will span eras and continents. The artists then sit down for a world premiere by Chern Hwei for sitar and string quartet followed by Beethoven’s monumental string quartet Opus 130 in the master’s original version with the Grosse Fuge.
