Leclair, Rameau, and the Age of Enlightenment

Joyous chamber music from the zenith of French culture.

Portland Baroque Orchestra and Byron Schenkman & Friends co-present an evening of decadent music from the late French Baroque, the age of Voltaire and the Philosophes. Monica Huggett and harpsichordist Byron Schenkman will perform Couperin's La Paix du Parnasse and Leclair's Deuxième Récréation de Musique for two violins and continuo; and selections from Rameau's Pièces de clavecin en concerts for harpischord, violin, and viol. Other works by Leclair and Rameau round out this joyful and festive program.
