Dance Your Zills Off - Finger Cymbal Drills
EMILY ALRICK * 2hr ALL
Sun Aug 12, 1-3p
Relax into the music while rocking the zills. We will learn and drill some standard and not-so-standard cymbal patterns with accompanying movements pulling from various styles of bellydance. We will focus on playing the cymbals while coordinating our hands and arms, committing to full body movements that are complemented by playing zills. We’ll work with drills and combos then put them together for a short drill choreography that can be used for later practice and inspiration for your personal repertoire.
We will start with a warm up for hands and arms, then go into basic patterns with variations. We’ll put it all together within combos and some choreography.
- Difficulty: All levels welcome.
- Please bring: Your finger cymbals, pad and pen, your favorite reusable water container. We will be playing cymbals so you may wish to bring ear plugs if your ears are sensitive.
- Optional: yoga mat, dance shoes, exercise towel
