Directed by O.P. Hadlock

August 24 - September 23, 2018

The three Magrath sisters have gathered in Hazelhurst, Mississippi, where they await news of the family patriarch, who's living out his last hours in the local hospital. Lenny is unmarried at 30 and her marital prospects are bleak. Meg's lamenting a failed singing career. Meanwhile, Babe is out on bail after having shot her husband. Their troubles are grave and yet somehow hilarious and they keep Crimes of the Heart plugging along. Warm-hearted and irreverent, this 1981 Pulitzer Prize and New York Drama Critics Circle Award winning show teems with humanity and humor as it examines the plight of three young sisters betrayed by their passions. In the end, the play guides its young characters toward escaping the past to seize the future.

"It has heart, wit and a surprisingly zany passion that must carry all before it…it would certainly be a crime for anyone interested in the theatre not to see this play." —NY Post.
