Doo Wop to Soul Concert

starring The Masqueraders

Saturday, July 21, 2018 7 PM

A celebration of Doo Wop and Soul Vocal Harmony featuring the recent stars of America’s Got Talent, The MASQUERADERS (“Change Gonna Come”).  Also starring are three great doo wop acappella groups, QUIET STORM, BROOKLYN CONNECTION and RE-MEMBERTHEN. Emceed by Classic Urban Harmony’s Pamela and Charlie Horner.  Originally from Dallas Texas, the Masqueraders relocated to Memphis in 1968 where they recorded the Top-10 R&B record, “I Ain’t Got To Love Nobody Else”. Over the next twelve years they scored four more Top-40 soul harmony records including “I’m Just an Average Guy” and the Isaac Hayes produced, “Call Me The Travelin’ Man”). In 2017, the Masqueraders resurfaced as a trio, narrowly missing the semi-finals of the popular TV show, America’s Got Talent. They reconnected with their old fans and gained a couple million new ones.

Opening for the Masqueraders will be three fabulous vocal groups. Quiet Storm has been one of the area’s premier Doo Wop and Soul acappella groups for more than ten years. Brooklyn Connection began singing doo wop in New York City back in the 1980’s. They’ve never sounded better. Re-MemberThen was recently featured on the PBS TV special, Doo Wop Generations.
