Wastelands

Hero is the last remaining human on Earth. She has been stranded on the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, in the middle of the ocean, for years… but her days are numbered. Amidst acid rain, suffocating smog, and the plastic mass beneath her feet breaking apart, she tells her final tale using improvised garbage puppets and really, really bad poetry. Witness the end of Protagonist; behold the end of the world.

Wastelands is an apocalyptic comedy about garbage and the pieces of trash who produce it.

This is a workshop run, building towards the full-length production to be mounted September 6-16th in the Vancouver Fringe Festival. Wastelands is being developed with the support of Alberta Playwrights’ Network and Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre.
