Dalton State College Presents Flutist Eldred Spell and Pianist Lillian Buss Pearson, Thursday, October 11, 2018  7:30 pm

Eldred Spell is a professor of flute at Western Carolina University. A popular soloist and master teacher, in 2008 he was a visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music, London. Spell holds the Ph.D. in Applied Flute from Michigan State University. Also trained as a flute maker, he has done considerable research into the flute’s acoustics and construction.

Pianist Lillian Buss Pearson has appeared throughout the United States, England, Costa Rica, and China as a soloist and collaborative artist. From 1988 to 2007, she was the head of the keyboard area at

Western Carolina University. Pearson’s solo orchestral appearances include performances with the Jacksonville and Asheville Symphonies, the Breckenridge Festival Orchestra, the Western Carolina Civic

Orchestra, National Chamber Players, and the Brandenburg Ensemble.

The concert will be held Thursday, October 11th at 7:30 pm in the Creative Arts Guild Jonas Hall, located at 520 West Waugh Street in Dalton. This concert is supported by the Dalton State Foundation and the School of Liberal Arts. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors over 65 and non-Dalton State students. Dalton State students, staff and faculty are admitted free with valid i.d.
