Table 17 is a story about two families. One Jewish and one African American. The African American family worked in the Jewish home as servants. During their time working for the family they had good times, trying times, and challenges. The Grandmother of the Jewish family passes and leaves the household servants a tremendous gift, catching her own family off guard. The two families come together to try to make the best out of difficult circumstances. The play is about healing and reconciliation of one’s past.
