SINATRA CENTENNIAL - A celeberation of the man and his music, on the main stage.

DECEMBER 11 & 12, 2015

One hundred years after the birth of the legendary Francis Albert Sinatra in Hoboken, New Jersey, the Unforgetable Big Band takes to the YLT stage to celebrate his outstanding musical legacy. Our tribute features many of the outstanding musical selections that made Sinatra a household name for generations of music lovers, along with selections performed by Frank's leading ladies in life, stage, and screen. Revisit memories of the golden age of American songwriting, as we recall images of the famous Copa Room at the old Las Vegas Sands, where Sinatra held court with Quincy Jones and the Count Basie orchestra, along with Dean, Sammy, and the rest of the Rat Pack.

Her other neighbor is a retired chemist who had developed a blue pill called "Venusia" to increase the libido of menopausal women. A charming rogue contrives to serve a short sentence in an airy mental institution, rather than in a prison. This, he learns, was a mistake. He clashes with the fierce head nurse. Quickly, he takes over the yard and accomplishes what the medical profession has been unable to do for twelve years; he makes a presumed deaf and dumb Indian talk. He leads others out of introversion, stages a revolt so they can see the World Series on television, and arranges a rollicking midnight party with liquor and chippies. For one offense, the head nurse has him submit to shock treatment. The party is too horrid for her and she forces him to submit to one final correction....a frontal lobotomy.

THE KING & I - A musical on the main stage.

June 17-19 & 23-26, 2016

East versus West makes for a dramatic, richly textured and ultimately uplifting tale of enormous facination. It is 1862 in Siam when an English widow, Anna Leonowens, and her young son arrive at the Royal Palace in Bangkok, having been summoned by the King to serve as tutor to his many children and wives. The King is largely considered to be a barbarian by those in the West, and he seeks Anna's assistance in changing his image, if not his ways. With both keeping a firm grip on their respective traditions and values, Anna and the King grow to understand and, eventually, respect one another, in a unique love story. Along with the dazzling score, the incomparable Jerome Robbins balet, 'The Small House of Uncle Thomas', is one of the all-time marbels of the musical stage.
