F.W. Murnau's "Nosferatu" (1922) featuring organist, Jay Warren

Friday, October 29 @ 7:30pm

Jay Warren, Chicago's foremost photoplay organist brings all the color, excitement, and glamour of the silent film era back to life with his original scores for the silver screen. Mr. Warren will accompany Nosferatu from Emmanuel’s newly restored Casavant pipe organ.

“To watch F.W. Murnau's "Nosferatu" (1922) is to see the vampire movie before it had really seen itself. Here is the story of Dracula before it was buried alive in clichés jokes, TV skits, cartoons and more than 30 other films. The film is in awe of its material. It seems to really believe in vampires.” – Roger Ebert

Patricia Barber Trio

The Lyons Township HS Big Band

Friday, January 21, 2022 @ 7:30pm

Pianist and vocalist Patricia Barber boldly blurrs the otherworldly lines between poetry, jazz, and art song. By combining literate integrity with powerful musical inventiveness, she’s created a consistently brilliant and original new music, one that defies easy classification and exudes what’s implied in the title of one of her best-known albums, a distinctly “modern cool.”

Patricia is joined by Larry Kohut on bass and Jon Deitmyer, drums.  The Lyons Township High School Big Band, led by Mark Dahl, opens the show!
