Inspired by Homer's epic poem, the Odyssey, Penelope is a meditation on what it means to come home. A song cycle by Sarah Kirkland Snider, Penelope, sees a woman's husband appear at her door after an absence of twenty years, suffering from brain damage. A veteran of an unnamed war, he doesn't know who he is and she doesn't know who he's become. While they wait together for his return to himself, she reads to him from the Odyssey, and in the journey of that book, she finds a way into her former husband's memory and the terror and trauma of war.
We'll Handel The Children (Yarmouth show only) - childcare during the performance $10 per child. Registration required. | Buy Tickets |

June 6, 2026 - 6:00 pm - Brunswick
June 7, 2026 - 3:00 pm - Falmouth
Experience why NPR music critics call Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos “not only as good as music gets, it's as good as it gets, period. As good as existence, reality, life and the world.” Part of our annual Brandenburg cycle, this year features No. 5 for flute, harpsichord, and violin.
Find out why musicians, musicologists, and NPR consider Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos “as energizing as any techno dance music, as driving and thrilling as any punk or heavy metal” (All Things Considered).
