Respectfully paying tribute to all the classic “Seasons” details, Let’s Hang On! also pays tribute to the Broadway show, The Jersey Boys. Let’s Hang On! captures the trademark vocal virtuosity, tight harmonies, and crisp choreography that made The Four Seasons one of the greatest vocal groups of all time. ​TANNA is set in the South Pacific where Wawa, a young girl from one of the last traditional tribes, falls in love with her chief’s grandson, Dain. When an intertribal war escalates, Wawa is unknowingly betrothed as part of a peace deal. The young lovers run away, but are pursued by enemy warriors intent on killing them. They must choose between their hearts and the future of the tribe, while the villagers must wrestle with preserving their traditional culture and adapting it to the increasing outside demands for individual freedom. TANNA is based on a true story and performed by the people of Yakel in Vanuatu.

This superb adaptation captures all the magic and charm of everyone's favorite story. The Darling children love to hear of Peter Pan’s adventures during his visits through the open window of the nursery. Then one night after Nana has taken his shadow and Wendy has sewn it back on, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell whisk the children off to Neverland to be part of the adventures. Wendy, John and Michael become friends with the Lost Boys and Princess Tiger Lily and Wendy becomes everyone’s mother. When the evil Captain Hook captures Wendy and the Lost Boys, Peter Pan comes to their rescue. Together with the ticking crocodile, Peter Pan puts Captain Hook in his place and returns the Darling children to their home.

Contra Costa Chamber Orchestra

Two works, The Tempest by 19th century American composer John Knowles Paine and Dvorak's Othello Overture celebrate Shakespeare400. Amy Likar, piccoloist with the Oakland East Bay Symphony reprises Martin Rokeach's Concerto for Piccolo and Orchestra, composed for her, and premiered by OEBS last year. We celebrate Argentinian composer Alberto Ginestera's 100th birthday with his evocative tone poem, Pampaena No. 3, the third in his trilogy of symphonic poems that celebrate the low-lying plains of his home country.
