Encore Stage & Studio's Season

Student Directed One-Act Plays
April 25-26, 2025

"10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse" by Don Zolidis is a hilarious and fast-paced comedy that offers a tongue-in-cheek guide to making it through a zombie outbreak. With quirky characters and over-the-top scenarios, this play delivers laughs while poking fun at classic zombie tropes—perfect for all ages who enjoy a good (and goofy) scare! Student directed by Abigail H.

"A Murdered Mystery" by Karl Garner is a clever and comical twist on the classic whodunit. As a group of curious characters tries to solve a murder, chaos and laughter ensue—with plenty of surprises along the way. It’s a fun show that keeps everyone guessing and giggling until the very end! Student directed by Annika H.

"Metropolis Man" by D. M. Larson is a charming romantic comedy about Lo, a woman drawn to the small town of Metropolis by a dream of finding true love under the town's Superman statue. As she explores the town, she meets Kent, a local resident, and Simon, a store owner, leading to humorous and heartfelt interactions. This lighthearted play brings a delightful blend of romance and comedy.

"Monster Survival Skills During a Gremlin Outbreak" by D. M. Larson is a fun and fast-paced comedy that teaches us how to stay safe when mischievous gremlins take over! With quirky tips, silly scenarios, and plenty of laughs, this play is a playful guide to surviving the unexpected. Both plays are student directed by Zach R.

"The Accident" by Herb Hasler stars a small theatre company who is preparing for opening night of their friend's original play. An unexpected accident prevents the truck carrying costumes and props from arriving! Determined to salvage the production, the actors stage the play using other actors and their stagehands as scenery. Student directed by Radhika B.

"The Still Alarm" by George S. Kaufman is a witty one-act comedy that takes a hilarious look at how people can remain oddly calm in the face of chaos. As a hotel fire breaks out, two gentlemen react with surprising politeness and composure, leading to unexpected laughs. It's a clever and family-friendly play full of dry humor and absurd charm. Student Directed by Kate D.
