Harp & Guitar Duo

In collaboration with UAFS Department Art & Design

Featuring Emily Duncan and Matthew Denman, this duo explores the intricate and expressive interplay between the guitar and harp, showcasing their unique textures and dynamic contrasts. Their concert program includes captivating works by Pereira, Hovhaness, Sidney, and more, offering a rich tapestry of musical artistry.

This event will be hosted by the UAFS Gallery of Art and Design, which will provide a reception after the performance and the opportunity to experience its collection of contemporary art.

This highly anticipated concert includes a rarely heard live performance of Max Richter‘s haunting “November” for solo violin and orchestra performed by Fort Smith Symphony Concertmaster, Er-Gene Kahng. Following “November” is the beautiful Concerto for Tuba and Orchestra by British composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, performed by Fort Smith Symphony Principal Tubist, Ryan Robinson, showing off the beautiful lyric qualities of the tuba. After intermission, the mighty Symphony No. 2 by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius will be performed. This amazing work has long been recognized as one of the great symphonies of the Romantic era. It includes one of the most epic finales of any symphony ever composed. Hearing this program live is an event not to be missed.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Presented by CineConcerts, the complete screening of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s StoneTM in Concert, in what is possibly the Fort Smith Symphony’s largest production to date! The film is projected on a huge screen over the orchestra, showing the complete feature-length film in all its glory. The music has been digitally removed from the film and is performed live by the Fort Smith Symphony performing John Williams’s amazing film score! This production continues to receive worldwide acclaim and is the ultimate family concert.
