WIZARD ACADEMY!

The bumbling Professor Hackensneeze makes a visit from the Realm of Mysteries to teach children 4 to 12 the secrets of their innermost powers. This loony professor of Wizardry leads children on a zany day-in-the-life of a ‘Wizard In Training’ (W.I.T). During “Wizard Academy!” children will have their brain, eyes and reflexes tested with fun challenges and illusions, and stir up the primal forces of their imaginations during classes of potions, wand etiquette, and levitation. Hallmarks of this riotous family-friendly show are madcap sound effects, slapstick antics, talking Trolls and a visit from his furry Sidekick Mortimer. Presto Hilarioso!

PIRATE SCHOOL; Sea Dreams!

“Pirate School: Sea Dreams!” is madcap solo family show that allows kids 4-12 and their caregivers the chance to live out their dreams of swashbuckling adventure and quench their undeniable thirst to join the briny buccaneers of yore. Led by the bumbling pirate professor, Billy Bones, children learn the finer points of light-hearted mischief through zany lessons on how to stand, talk, and laugh like sea-dogs. During “Pirate School: Sea Dreams!” cannons boom, skulls talk, cutlasses drop, critters cavort and everyone, young and old, participates in a grandiose sea-battle for their final exam.

UNBOUGHT

A music and theatre piece by the Core Ensemble

Sun. Feb. 23, 2:00 p.m.

Featuring the dramatic stories of journalist and women’s suffrage activist Ida B. Wells, Thomas Jefferson’s slave and concubine Sally Hemings, and Shirley Chisholm, the first African American in the U.S. Congress and the first African American woman to run for President. The afternoon includes music from popular and folk traditions, and works by African American Composers.

FRIGG, Nordic Folk Band

SAT. MARCH 8, 7:00 P.M.

Hailing from Norway, the seven member, all-string group takes listeners to “art music spheres” through traditional Finnish polska, bluegrass and Balkan rhythms all in one concert; as if several different ensembles were visiting the stage at the same time! The hypnotic combination of the violin sound, and the irresistibly ringing of the double bass's pulse, to the driving melodic tones of the guitar, Frigg brings a concert varied and full of joy.
