Sponsored By: Warner Norcross & Judd

Welcome to the Renaissance and the outrageous, crowd-pleasing musical farce, Something Rotten. Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as "The Bard." When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz.

ELEPHANT & PIGGIE'S WE ARE IN A PLAY

May 13, 2023

Get ready for a hilarious musical experience, ripped from the pages of Mo Willems' beloved, award-winning, best-selling children's books. Elephant and Piggie’s We Are In A Play will leave audiences doing the "Flippy Floppy Floory" dance all night long! An elephant named Gerald and a pig named Piggie are best, best, "bestus" friends, but Gerald worries that something could go wrong that would end their friendship. Piggie is not worried at all, because she and Gerald are invited to a party hosted by the Squirrelles, the hosts with the most who love to have a good time. And so begins a day when anything is possible in this imaginative musical romp that playfully explores the true meaning of friendship.

Presented by the Inaugural Cohort of Grand Rapids Civic Theatre's Young Artist Studio.
