AGOS Harvest: Spring 2025 Dance Recital

KULARTS presents Agos Harvest: Spring 2025 Dance Recital as a part of KULARTS’ Agos Youth Program, a youth dance performance of various Philippine folkloric dances with Rondalla music accompaniment contextualized through the nature of harvesting food throughout the Philippines.

Over the course of the spring season, Agos teaching artists and students addressed the history of colonization, immigration, cultural and racial equity issues impacting the Pilipino youth and their families. By intertwining art and political education, the students look holistically at ideas around healing and belonging, informed by traditional practice, but within the context of the Bay Area’s diasporic Pilipino community.
