Live Arts Maryland’s annual performances of Messiah are a beloved Annapolis holiday tradition performed in one of the city’s most beloved and iconic buildings. World-class soloists, the Chamber Orchestra, and, of course, the Annapolis Chorale, all come together in historic St. Anne’s Church for a powerful presentation of this timeless work. The audience joins the singing with some holiday carols!
Our presentation of Messiah is family friendly and curated for audience members of all ages. Seating for these performances is limited so order your tickets early!

| A Winter's Journey

A Winter’s Journey tells the story of a man and woman who each wander through the cold of winter mourning the loss of their lost loves. Pairing ten of Schubert’s Winterreise (in an English translation by Jeremy Sams) with Maury Yeston’s companion song cycle December Songs, this fully staged performance piece uses visual elements, dancers, and supertitles to assist in the storytelling brought to the stage by the singers and the piano. Jennifer Blades and Jason Buckwalter play the part of the man and woman. Andrew Stewart is music director and pianist. Directed by Elissa De Maria. We're so thrilled to welcome legendary “Late Night” Music Director Paul Shaffer for a one-night-only concert at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts on February 17. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with Paul as conductor for his Symphony shows, and I can tell you that you don’t want to miss a single note of an evening with Paul. For this concert, Paul will perform music that has influenced him and that he still loves and plays! In addition to a great night of music, we’ll also host a special VIP Reception before the concert!
