This season’s “It’s Almost Summer” opera is Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore (The Elixir of Love) – a frothy concoction of hummable melodies, colorful characters, true love, and a happy ending.
Stage Director Bradley Greenwald makes his Lyric Opera of the North debut with this production. Dirk Meyer conducts. The LOON chorus will be busier than ever in this luscious, lovely opera – just right for an almost-summer outing!

Will Kids Like This Opera??
This is a family friendly show. It will be most enjoyable for kids who can read the supertitles, as it is sung in Italian. With intermission it will last just over 2 1/2 hours. The music will be recognizable to all the students who saw the Opera for the Young adaptation of The Elixir of Love in their schools. This is the original version.
This activity is made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, thanks to appropriations from the Minnesota State Legislature’s general and arts and cultural heritage funds.
