Black Chair - Monologues from a Movement

October 25, 7:30 p.m.

Monologues from a Movement contains true #MeToo stories from women that touch on several varied aspects of the movement, including personal relationships, social encounters between strangers, overall societal attitudes, religious culture, and the workplace.

A few of these stories will entertain you and even make you laugh. Some will sound all too familiar. Some will be hard to hear. Unfortunately, these stories are not rare. If you know a woman, you likely know somebody with a heartbreaking #MeToo moment she could share if she wanted to.

Viewer Discretion Advised

This staged reading contains mature and sensitive themes, including real-life accounts of rape, religious trauma, victim shaming, personal political perspectives, drug use, suicidal thoughts and the use of explicit language. These subjects may be intense for some audience members.

We recommend that individuals under the age of 18 be accompanied by a trusted adult.

Black Chair - The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [Revised] [Again]

November 9, 7:30 p.m. and November 10, 2:00 p.m.

The cultural touchstone that is The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [Revised] [Again] was born when three inspired, charismatic comics, having honed their pass-the-hat act at Renaissance fairs, premiered their preposterous masterwork at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1987. It quickly became a worldwide phenomenon, earning the title of London’s longest-running comedy after a decade at the Criterion Theatre.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [Revised] [Again] is one of the world’s most frequently produced plays and has been translated into several dozen languages. Featured are all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays, meant to be performed in 97 minutes, by three actors. Fast paced, witty, and physical, it’s full of laughter for Shakespeare lovers and haters alike.
