Nimbus Dance Spring Season
May 15 - 16, 2026, 8 pm
A World Premiere. Four Thrilling Contemporary Dance Works. A New Choral Score Performed by 30 Voices. The Words of Eight Jersey City Icons. Choreographers from Four Countries. E Pluribus Unum. Our Whole is Greater Than the Sum of Our Parts. Nimbus Celebrates the Nation's 250th.
Sum of Parts features the world premiere of A Land, A Promise, by Princess Grace Award–winning choreographer Houston Thomas, set to a newly composed choral score by Saunder Choi and performed live by the West Village Chorale. The program also features works by Pedro Ruiz and Yoshito Sakuraba, alongside the return of Through the Golden Door, created with bestselling author Helene Stapinski and eight longtime Jersey City residents and culturemakers: Mary Aiken, Sam Pesin, Ben Jones, Juan Cartagena, Tina Maneca, Catherine Hecht, Joe Waks, Danielle Scott.

Also Featured: Excerpts from "Coppélia" arranged by School of Nimbus Co-Director Sarah Lane, and a new dance created specifically for the School of Nimbus Ensembles by Co-Director Marie Zvosec.
