ORS Youth Choir closes its 30th season with two commission premieres! If You Dream, You Can Fly will include the premiere of a new combined work for youth and adult choirs from pianist and composer Naomi LaViolette, Racing the Moon, with poetry by Youth Choir singer Luci LaViolette, commissioned for this performance! As part of a consortium, Youth Choir also commissioned SUNAAO by composer Reena Esmail, a set of three pieces “designed to introduce young choirs to the Hindi/Urdu language,” and “remind us to approach new ideas from a place of curiosity.”
