Purduettes and Purdue Bells

1st Brigade Band

In 1864, eighteen men from the Brodhead Brass Band enlisted in the Union Army as the band of the 1st Brigade, 3rd Division, 15th Army Corps. More than 150 years later, the members of the 1st Brigade Band bring history to life with period brass band music performed on antique instruments in period uniforms. Take a musical journey back to the 1860s; to that turbulent era known as the Civil War.
