Start your Holiday season with the 30th annual production of “The Nutcracker”, presented by Peninsula School of Performing Arts.
A beautiful blend of professionals, pre-professionals, adults and young dancers come together to delight audiences of all ages with this rich rendition of the classical ballet.
World renowned performer Alexander Kalinin, as Herr Drosselmeier, weaves an enchanted story through the dreams of a young girl, Clara, and her Nutcracker. Her travels take her to the Battle of the Nutcracker and the Mouse King then to the Land of Snow, and on to the Kingdom of the Sweets, where Clara is greeted by the ever so beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy and her court.
Music by Tchaikovsky and Choreography by Tita Boulger, Vera Ninkovic, Marina Kalinina and Alexander Kalinin. The Nutcracker is a treat for the entire family.

Joanna Medawar Nachef Singers will ring in the season with a journey from North America to England to South America. A Ceremony of Carols, by Benjamin Britten, written in 1942 as he crossed the Atlantic from the U. S. back to England. This Christmas Cantata based on Latin and English poems became a classical music staple. The concert will also feature the widely popular folk nativity drama of Ariel Ramirez, Navidad Nuestra, in Latin America’s traditions and rhythms. Our show will close with carol sing-along will engage the audience in a rousing finale.

Palos Verdes Ballet is thrilled to present its’ 38th Anniversary Nutcracker season. Directed by Uta Graf-Apostol, this enchanting ballet classic will be performed at the Norris Theatre for one weekend only! Tickets for the Saturday, December 15th performance at 7p.m. and Sunday, December 16th at 1p.m. and 5 p.m. are $38 for adults and $28

Palos Verdes Ballet’s talented pre-professional dancers will dance in the snow and candy caned stage with guest artist Priit Kripson from the Royal Ballet of Flanders and Stephan Azulay from Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Pritt Kripson will portray the role of the magical and mysterious “Dr. Drosselmeier”, while Stephan Anzulay will sweep away “Marie” to the Land of Sweets where the loving couple will dance the renowned “Grand Pas de deux”.

The magic tree house whisks Jack and Annie back in time to the foggy streets of Victorian London, where they meet the famous, well-off author, Charles Dickens, who has a severe case of the writer’s block. Jack and Annie also witness the hardships faced by the poor, and their efforts to help only land them in prison. Mr. Dickens rescues Jack and Annie, and they, in turn, help him escape the sad memories that haunt him. In the process, they inspire Mr. Dickens to write one of the greatest holiday stories of all time. Great for the entire family and perfect for the holidays!
