WINNER! BEST MUSICAL REVIVAL 2009 TONY AWARD!
The rock musical that sparked a revolution and ignited a generation is back! All the original hits and new songs rediscovered from the original production - all played live by The Tribe, lending the show raw energy and immediacy. This new production returns to its rebellious and provocative roots! Although initially performed in 1967, the universal themes of individuality, experimentation and acceptance in the face of oppression are just as resonant today. Updated for 2014 by the original creator Jim Rado, experience HAIR like you have never seen before! HAIR depicts the birth of a cultural movement in the turbulent 60's that changed America forever. Follow The Tribe, a diverse group of free-spirited, politically active hippies who live a bohemian life and passionately preach a lifestyle of pacifism and free-love in a conservative society riddled with intolerance, brutality and the looming draft of the Vietnam War. "It's bold, brash, youthful and defiant - a great fun night out!", enthuses producer David Galpern.

Be Bop A Lula
Presented by: Pine Knob TheaterApril 26, 2014 7:00pm
A Doo Wop and Be Bop Musical with our live stage band and acting scenes with dance routines. Just opened in 2013 with near sellout crowds. Lula is the new girl at school who is from down in the boondocks. She’s just a rag doll from the poor side of town. Johnny is the cool guy who runs the local “Bee Clean” car wash. He and his gang of “Bee Girls” don’t care much for the square kids until Johnny falls for Lula. But what will Johnny’s Bee Girls think of Lula? Charmin runs the local Drive In Diner and her boyfriend Wimpy loves hamburgers. Charmin takes the girls to visit her cousin down in Tupelo and he fixes Lula and her friends up so Johnny has to take notice on their return. This show has lots of Doo Wop and Be Bop songs performed by the carwash band as the story is being told. Lula may not think Johnny is the boy for her, but he’s sure the boy she loves.
