The Performing Arts Department proudly announces that this year's fall musical will be the Broadway smash hit GREASE!

GREASE originated in Chicago before making the transition to Broadway in June of 1972, taking up residence at the Broadhurst Theatre. The show captured the hearts of audience goers and garnered 7 Tony Award nominations. It closed as the longest running show in Broadway history after playing 3,388 performances.

In 1978, GREASE became a hugely popular feature film starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John and, since its initial historic run, Broadway has celebrated two revivals—the first in 1994 (3 Tony nominations) and another in 2007 (Best Revival nomination.)

GREASE is a rock n’ roll high school musical celebration of growin’ up, cruisin’ with friends, and goin’ steady in 1959. Buckley’s production will feature songs from the 1978 motion picture including the Academy Award nominated song, “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “Grease,” and “You’re the One That I Want"—the latter two enjoyed the #1 spot on the Billboard Top 100. Our production will also include the Jacobs/Casey songs made famous by the original stage production, “Summer Nights,” “Greased Lightnin’,” and “We Go Together.”
