Written by former Port City resident Steve Cooper with music by former Wilmingtonian Brad Moranz, the musical takes place at a gay bar in the late 1970s on the Carolina Beach boardwalk, and explores the lives and loves of its patrons and the lively entertainment of the club. Doors open at 6pm, show at 7pm. Special reserved seating for this show with limited dinner seating. Not appropriate for younger audiences.

Join Dock the Dog and the Dock Street Kids for ten exciting episodes of Super Saturday Fun Time, TheatreNOW’s award-winning, live theatrical show featuring local history and mystery and super guest stars! Your host, riverboat captain and surf lover, Captain Coy T. Plunkett (Zach Hanner) leads the fun with live music, games, cartoons, short films, and his favorite surf “nuggets”. The Dock Street Kid’s and their always-hungry dog, Dock, solve adventures like the “Ghost of the Battleship”, “The Ghost of the Riverwalk”, or the “The Sea Devil and The Salt Works”. Parents can even drop off kids ages 5+. A new adventure awaits every week! Kid-friendly snacks and drinks available for purchase. We also do custom birthday packages with a chance to interact with all the characters and even step onstage and be a part of the action!!!

Celebrate Black History Month and support Lenny Simpson’s One Love Tennis Program With Dinner and the Movie “Althea”

Doors open at 5:30pm, dinner at 6pm, movie at 7pm

Enjoy a wonderful 3 course meal, a special screening of the critically acclaimed feature film “Althea” at this “historic” fundraising event for the One Love Tennis Program. The evening will feature the fascinating story of the trailblazing Grand Slam tennis champion Althea Gibson, who called Wilmington home. There will be a brief introduction and Q and A after the screening by Lenny Simpson. Lenny and Althea both lived and trained at the tennis court just a few blocks from TheaterNOW.
