History, math, science, and love can all be seen and felt in this play about the emergence of the computer and the curious young woman who is said to become the first computer programmer. Its Victorian England, the dawning of the British Industrial Revolution when Ada Byron Lovelace (daughter of Lord Byron) meets Charles Babbage the inventor of the first mechanical computer, at a party. This meeting will change both of their lives creating a partnership that will push the bounds of science and bring forth the Analytical Engine. Ada and Babbage are of like minds, they are dreamers, they are scientist but it is Ada who sees that this engine can do more than just calculations but has the ability to create music, art, and where they can converge with information.
