To translate Brooks' 1974 black & while parody of the 19360's horror film to the Broadway stage, castle, laboratories, lightning bolts, and rampaging torch-carrying villagers were recreated. The monster was suited in green, visibly stitched together and did the famour "Puttin' OnThe Ritz" number in tie and tails.
