Opening our season is the show we had to cancel in 2019 because of the COVID-19 pandemic and which the Publishers have now given us permission to perform!! It's a fun and upbeat musical based on the novel "Legally Blonde" by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name. It tells the story of Elle Woods, a soroity girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend, Warner, and discovers how her knowledge of law can help others. The musical premiered in pre-Broadway tryouts in San Francisco in 2007 before moving to Broadway. It received 7 Tony nominations and ten Drama Desk nominations. It has since toured throughout the USA, London, and other countries. This musical is a modern, original musical within a comedy which pays tribute to the Jazz-age shows of the 1920's. It is based on the tale of a pampered Broadway starlet who wants to give up show business to get married, her producer who sets out to sabotage the nuptials, her chaperone, the debonair, groom, the dizzy chorine, the Lating lover and a couple of gangsters. The show opened in Toronto, Canada, in 2001 and after a successful run, moved to Boradway in 2006 with the National Tour appearing in San Francisco in 2008. We produced it in 2012 to rave reviews!
