RENT

Book, Music and Lyrics by Jonathan Larson

RENT is a rock opera loosely based on Puccini’s La Boheme. Set in Lower Manhattan’s East Village, this moving story chronicles the lives of a group of artists over the course of a year in the midst of the turmoil of the AIDS crisis in New York. It’s about community, survival and friendship. Recipient (1996) of 4 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, 6 Drama Desk Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and the 1997 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.

RENT is presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International (MTI).
