Learn the unique pottery techniques that North Carolina's Appalachian potters have been using for generations. This technique uses slabs of clay and dimensional surface textures, to create pieces that could never be produced using a potter's wheel.

Our most popular theme at the Gateway! Students will blow, splatter, throw and drop paint on a variety of surfaces, generating wonderful works of art. Spin art and throwing paint-covered tennis balls will also be included in the mix. Friday is our outside splatter day. They will be splattered and should wear old clothes this day from head to toe!
