Ages 9-10. If a student is new to our program, please contact us prior to registration to discuss placement. Students are required to take two Classical Ballet 3 sessions per week. A natural progression from Classical Ballet 2 with greater emphasis on complex exercises in terms of coordination, strength, and musicality. A complete barre, port de bras, adage and allegro are now included, as well as the continued work in Character and Free Movement.
Continuing through the Winter/Spring session (Jan- May) provides two additional opportunities:
-Students could be invited to participate in our Royal Academy of Dance Exams mid-spring, at the discretion of staff.
-All students are invited to perform in our Annual Spring Recital in May. Exams and Recital participation will require additional fees.
Academy Ballet does not guarantee make-up classes for weather-related closures.
Dress Code: Girls: Royal Academy of Dance Aimee OR Ivy leotard in Mulberry, pink or skin tone-matched tights, leather full sole ballet shoes and canvas low heel character shoes. Students will be fitted for character skirts and shoes during the first week of classes which will be rented or purchased depending on availability. Boys: White t-shirt, navy or black shorts, white socks, white full sole ballet shoes, and black lace up character shoes. Girl’s Leotards are available through our studio (academydancesupplies.square.site), tights and shoes available at Dance Supplies, Etc in Severna Park (410- 647-8727).
