They’ll need to figure out how to deal with these dark apparitions (and each other) before the Market is swallowed in shadows forever. Li

Li, a mid-career thief from Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, suddenly finds herself taking on too much responsibility. She breaks into an apartment and ends up emptying her pockets to feed its old, blind and starving resident. She gets a phone call from her estranged brother, a college professor in New York City, who tells her that he’s dying from cancer and now it’s her job to take care of their mother. With three mouths to feed, Li has to reconsider her career choice. Can her street smarts help her survive? A play with a radio, a hen, and a really good fart joke.

The World Looks Different Sitting Down

From the dark alleyways of Hollywood to surprising celebrity engagements, the life of a working actor is filled with highs and lows. Add a wheelchair into that mix, and you enter the world of Teal Sherer, an actor, mom and disability advocate living a normal, extraordinary life as a wheelchair user. The World Looks Different Sitting Down is a tale of confronting the world at crotch level to bust open misconceptions and limitations. Whether it's falling in love while learning to surf or navigating mommy groups who were all about pushing strollers, Teal tells her story with humor, candidness, and vulnerability. Audiences will leave the show with an expanded view of disability in the world as they witness a fight to not be inspirational but simply to be seen.
Free to the public, a workshop with a post-play discussion. The writer/producer/performer is seeking feedback. Donations gladly accepted.
