The Two Tenors

Live in the Wright Opera House Tavern
Doors @ 6:30pm // Show @ 7pm

Tickets: $12 advance // $15 day-of-show

Join us for this silver-haired saxxy duo featuring Ouray County locals, Jim Pettengill and John Ast!

Jim and John met at a dinner at the Ouray, Colorado Elks Lodge several years ago and discovered that they both played saxophone. Since that time, both have played regularly with the Montrose community concert band and Saxophone Ensemble and the Lake City Stinger concert band. Jim also plays with Alive in the Woods, a local classic rock, blues and country band, and has played with jazz and country bands in New Mexico prior to retirement. John has also played with the Sun City Arizona concert band.

Jim and John also began arranging and playing duets to prerecorded background tracks, forming the Two Tenors! They play a wide variety of music from the ‘50s through the ‘90s. Although two tenor saxes feature in many of their songs, both players also have soprano, alto and baritone horns, so their performances feature a variety of saxes.

Bobcat Featuring Til Willis

Live in the Wright Opera House Tavern
Doors @ 6:30pm // Show @ 7pm

Tickets $12 advance, $15 day-of-show

Bobcat is a one-man band like no other. Drawing inspiration from the likes of garage rock, soul music, power-pop, rhythm and blues, rockabilly, punk rock, psychobilly, new wave and indie rock, this one-man band takes the notion one step further with ornate arrangements with minimal accompaniment.

Have you ever wondered where that song came from? Was it an old record? A radio broadcast? An obscure compilation of your favorite music genre from your CD collection? Maybe you heard it at a concert and wanted to hear it again.

Singer/Songwriter and Ouray local, Til Willis, brings his energetic performance and storytelling to a hometown crowd at the Wright Tavern.

In over twenty years of performing he has had the pleasure of sharing stages with the likes of Pete Seeger, Steve Earle, Ronny Elliott, and The Subdudes. When appearing as a solo artist his style is very Americana encompassing many genres in his original songs.
