Pianists Eric Tran and Nathan Cheung bring humor and joy to the classical music world with their four-hands originals and transcriptions. Friends and collaborators since middle school, Eric and Nathan earned their share of accolades. They’ve won a record-breaking 13 gold medals in piano duo events at the United States and recently took home prizes at the Horowitz Two Piano Competition and the Ellis Duo Piano Competition, hosted by the National Federation of Music Clubs. The name Happy Dog comes from their eponymously-titled 30-second compositional "masterpiece," Happy Dog. Sadly, neither Nathan nor Eric owns a dog.

Lewis and Tolkien: Of Wardrobes and Rings
Saturday, April 13, 2019
5:30 pm Concert Connection, The Bird Stop 702 Main St
(Buy your own drink/food)

7:00 pm Performance
$10 $15 $25 Adult $5 $8 $12 Child

C.S. Lewis (The Chronicles of Narnia) and J.R.R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings) were lions of 20th century British fantasy and distinguished faculty members at Oxford University. Their robust philosophical discourse served an uncommon friendship that was not without its differences. Life’s circumstances and unresolved disagreements forced an uncomfortable season of estrangement. In Wardrobes and Rings we join “Jack” and “Tollers,” as they knew each other, at Oxford’s historic Eagle and Child pub for one last visit, tempered by thawing humor, confession, and reconciliation. Remarkable lives. Memorable theatre.
