From the early 20 th century come two works written within a year of each other. Dohnanyi’s Piano Quintet #2(1914) and Szymanowski’s Mythes (1915) contain a gorgeous and evocative panoply of musical colors. In addition we present a string quartet by award winning Korean-American composer Texu Kim in which he explores the role of music in spiritual and physical healing. Texu Kim will be in attendance at the performance!

After the final concert of our season, come with us to France 44 for a unique and elevated wine pairing experience! This bespoke tasting draws inspiration from music to explore wine’s artistic and creative side. Enjoy hearty hors d’oeuvres and wine selections, including non-alcoholic options, hand-curated by France 44 Sommelier Karina Roe, thoughtfully paired to pieces from Bakken Ensemble’s concert season in consultation with Artistic Directors Stephanie Arado and Pitnarry Shin. Composer Texu Kim will be our special guest at the event.
