THE CATTELL SERIES RETURNS ON FEBRUARY 15 WITH CHRIS PAYNE, SPECIAL EFFECTS MAKE UP ARTIST FOR CHICAGO FIRE

TWS Readers Theatre

February 28th, 2026 @ 2:00pm

CATTELL THEATRE

TWS is pleased to announce the first TWS Readers Theater event featuring the staged reading of Lake Blue Terrace by Edward M. Pinkowski and directed by Edward W. Wavak.

Lake Blue Terrace, a full-length play, explores the shifting tides of family, identity, and history. Set in June 1989—on the cusp of the Cold War’s end—the play follows a Polish political refugee and her adult son as they struggle to keep their weathered lakeside resort afloat along the shores of Lake Michigan. Through sharp humor, simmering conflict, and poignant intergenerational dynamics, the story reveals how world events ripple through even the smallest of communities.

What is Readers Theatre?
Also known as concert readings, this format strips theatre down to its essence: actors, scripts, and storytelling. With scripts in hand and music stands in place, the spotlight shines on voice, expression, and character. It’s a powerful way to experience a play — and a golden opportunity for audience to comment on the work with the creative staff.
